We've been anticipating the opening of Skeye Brewing for years now and we're pleased to say it's as wonderful as we hoped it would be. We've been personal friends with a couple of the owners, Chris and Kami Malanowski, for a few years now and it's a beautiful thing to see the determination and follow-through they posses. We're stoked to be working together regularly as the hosts of their open mic that happens every Tuesday night, 6pm-8pm, so if you decide you'd like a brew and some Scholar time, you know where to find us on a regular basis.
Firstly, I want to mention how great the room is. With a warm, earthy color palette, beautiful hard wood floors, and art from the Left Hand Artist Group adorning the walls, this room has a welcoming feel upon entry. These guys opened in June, so they're still building up their brew offerings, but what we've had so far has been quite tasty. On opening day, I tried their Tobias Red Ale on Nitro. I enjoyed the balance of hops and malt and the tiny little nitro bubbles made it dangerously smooth. I'm a sucker for red beers, so I was pleased to find this will be one of their standard brews, it's perfect for any weather and any mood. The second brew I think is a standout choice is their Skeye's the Limit IPA. It's smooth, yet hoppy, nutty, yet citrusy, flavorful yet balanced. This IPA is another solid brew that should be around just about anytime. I'm stoked to see what the future holds for these guys. They're in a great location and have great flavors on their side!
Skeye Brewing hosts music on Fridays and Saturdays and of course, The Prairie Scholars host the open mic on Tuesdays. Browse their calendar of events, plan a trip and go have a brew or two!
