Roslaee's Pizzeria was near and dear to our hearts long before it had a building to call home. James and Amy Ross are some dear friends of ours and we've been enjoying their pizza and other delicious concoctions for years now. It's hard to express how proud and happy we are to see such wonderful and deserving people living out their dream and doing what they love every day. They are excellent people that have created an equally excellent product. With that said, let's get down to why Rosalee's is a place you must, must, must try.
Rosalee's feels great to walk into. It's a beautifully decorated space with hardwood floors, posters from shows that were most definitely purchased at the actual events and a very tastefully done suggestion of the Twin Peaks formed from a bit of dark blue wall and bright red brick. It's a comfortable space that you'll want to hang around in, even after you've eaten your meal. It has that community feel that guarantees you'll see someone you know or leave having made new friends. The pizza is crazy delicious, even locals that are self-proclaimed pizza snobs have been raving about the perfect texture of the crust and acidity of the sauce. With combinations like Bacon & Ricotta and Salami & Basil, it's hard to stick to just cheese or pepperoni (although even those simple pizza staples are magical at Rosalee's). These guys even have a gluten-free option and offer a polenta pie.
As my dear husband Andy says, "You must knot." This means, you absolutely must try the Sausage Knots. These are house-made sausage meatballs, wrapped in dough knots, baked and tossed in garlic, butter, parsley and cheese. The texture is addicting, juicy and buttery, yet flakey and slightly crispy right where they need to be. Go in some afternoon and treat yourself to some Sausage Knots and a local brew, you'll be so happy you did.
Rosalee's is not only tasty, they support our local art scene. They host live music on Wednesdays and usually put something tasty on special during the show. Go check out their website, like them on Facebook, and plan on taking a trip to the best pizza place around.
