La Vita Bella
If you know us personally, you know that for a long time we had day jobs. We were slinging coffee for years before we could build enough momentum to go full-time with our art. Now that we live on the other side of the coffee counter, we've definitely found a favorite shop to visit in town.
La Vita Bella encapsules everything we love about Main St. Longmont and more. It seems to be the spot that the locals have agreed to go because every time we're in there we see familiar faces. It could, of course, have something to do with the quality of the coffee. You can always tell if the rest of the menu will be good from the way the regular brew tastes, and this place, my friends, has some excellent brewed coffee. I branched out the other day off of a friend's recommendation and tried a mocha, and I'm happy to report it is, in my opinion, the best mocha in town. They use a homemade ganache that contains 60% chocolate and it definitely comes through in the flavor. Winter time never tasted so good :)
The drinks are great, the people are wonderful and oh my, the snacks are definitely something worth mentioning. Not only are they easy on the eyes, they are fresh, made every day right there on the premises. I've tried a few different items now, a blueberry coffee cake, a wonderful spiced rum cake called The Buccaneer, a super moist white cake with white chocolate ganache, fresh orange zest, and buttercream frosting. They have all be delectable and made me question if I should snag another piece to enjoy at home. Their baker is always coming up with new items, so check in often. They make some cafe-style savory snacks that are also worth mentioning, so if you happen in at lunch time and need something substantial, they've got you covered.
La Vita Bella has become one of our happy places in L-town. It feels good, it tastes good, and it even sounds good. They feature live music on Friday nights, bluegrass on Monday nights, and they have an open mic on Thursday nights. They have a nice little corner stage and a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy a night of coffee, sweet treats, and tunes. Visit their website, get to know them a bit, and definitely make time to stop in for some goodness. You might just run into The Prairie Scholars while you're there :)
