If you've met me and talked to me for any length of time, you'll probably know why I am stoked to write about CyclHOPS. Tacos. Tacos are my comfort food, salsa is my vitamin C and the Oskar Blue's branch, CyclHOPS, has won my heart for go-to taco place in town.
Now, there are lots of factors that go into why I would choose to eat tacos at CyclHOPS over just about anywhere else in Longmont. First off, they give you some pretty delicious chips and salsa before you ever think about ordering. That's what all my favorite Mexican restaurants back in Texas do, chips and salsa while you peruse the menu. Secondly, their house salsa is pretty darn good, but they don't stop there. You can order a "salsa flight" and sample a few different flavors with your abundance of chips. I would expect nothing less from a Southwestern restaurant who's roots are in the craft brew world.
The Carne Asada Taco is my absolute favorite, the Chorizo Taco is a close second. Their Pazole is tastefully presented and really hits the spot on a cold day and their Ceviche is fresh and full of flavor. Besides their regular menu that has plenty of great items to keep you busy, they also have a chef's special every day. Pair your dinner with a craft brew, margarita, or sample their huge selection of tequila.
CyclHOPS has great food, a super nice staff, and they have an extensive patio space to enjoy it on. Also, if you have time before dinner or if you are curious after you eat, check out the cycle shop at the front of the restaurant. Reeb Cycle is the Oskar Blue's cycle shop. That's right folks, they do great brews, excellent tacos, and bicycles. Just hang out a moment and let your brain explode.
CycylHOPS hosts live music every Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Now go, have some chips and salsa, enjoy a band, find their happy hour and drink margaritas. Experience all that is CyclHOPS!
