City Star Brewing

There are so many thing to love about City Star Brewing that this post is in danger of being way too long. We've been playing their taproom for years now and we always get excited when we see it pop back up on our calendar. The owners, John and Whitney Way, are not only excellent people, they make awards winning brews and create experiences that stick in the memory.

I love this time of year. It's snowy and cold and everyone tends to pile into the breweries. Pumpkin brews are in just about every taproom, but City Star has one of my favorite Pumpkin beers around. It has all the nostalgia of a fireplace on a chilly night and totally satisfies any craving I might have for pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread. The Country Pumpkin folks, that's where it's at this time of year.

Pumpkin won't always be in season, but any time of year is a good time to go to City Star. They have some award winning brews pouring in the taproom, and a couple of our favorites are the Red Necktar and the Bandit Brown. The Red Necktar is floral and fruity with a great balance of hops and malt. The Bandit Brown has a wonderful nutty, roasty flavor that you just won't find anywhere else. Your best bet is to just get a few tasters and work your way in from there.

City Star not only has great brews, they always have a great lineup of music in the taproom. Check out their calendar and plan to go have a brew and enjoy some tunes. One time in and you're sure to be back for more!
